Microsoft to remove Copilot GPT Builder from pro subscription on July 10
Microsoft has announced the removal of the Copilot GPT Builder from its Copilot Pro subscription, effective July 10. Initially introduced in March, the Copilot GPT Builder allowed subscribers to create custom generative AI assistants for $20 per month, similar to the CustomGPT's from ChatGPT. While the feature was exclusive to PC users for creation, these custom chatbots could be shared with both mobile and PC users, including non-subscribers.
Subscribers were informed of the removal via email, which included a link to a Microsoft support page explaining the decision. Microsoft cited a strategic shift towards focusing on core product experiences and developer opportunities in commercial and enterprise scenarios as the reason for this change.
All custom GPTs created with the Copilot GPT Builder will be deleted after July 10, along with any data collected from the feature. Users can save their custom GPT instructions before the removal date by accessing the configure tab in edit mode.
