Stardock introduces DesktopGPT to Object Desktop, a new AI Chatbot utility on the desktop

Stardock has added a new utility in beta called DesktopGPT, an AI-driven chatbot, to its Object Desktop suite for Windows 10 and 11. The chatbot uses large language models like GPT-3.5 Turbo, GPT-4, and GPT-4 Turbo, offering diverse AI interactions for users.

DesktopGPT has a keyboard-first interface, similar to macOS's Spotlight Search, Alfred, Keypirinha or the AI Chatbot feature from Raycast. It can be accessed via a keyboard shortcut or a floating toolbar UI. The chatbot uses a text prompt-based interaction model to automate tasks, and offers templates for activities such as writing, proofreading, and summarizing. Users can customize templates to simplify repetitive tasks, and can also modify responses using pre-made modifiers, adding flexibility to interactions.

All ObjectDock users will get 75,000 tokens for free to use DesktopGPT's features. The chatbot is integrated with existing utilities in the suite like Fences 5, Stardock Groupy 2, Start11, and WindowBlinds 11, without raising the suite's price. Stardock has confirmed that DesktopGPT will not be offered separately from ObjectDock, at least for the time being.
