Sketch launches Version 100 with several new prototyping features and a redesigned web app
Sketch has unveiled version 100, introducing substantial upgrades to its prototyping functionalities. The update allows users to integrate horizontal, vertical, and multi-directional scrolling into their designs and offers new trigger options like hover, press, and toggle for more dynamic interaction designs. These enhancements were made possible through an overhaul of the prototype player, now powered by WebGL and Skia for improved performance and adaptability.
Alongside prototyping improvements, Sketch has redesigned its web app, replacing static sidebars with collapsible panels to optimize workspace. The inspect tool is now more accessible and free for developers, offering a complete Canvas view for thorough analysis. Users can also add comments directly on the Canvas prototype, which will appear on their related Artboards.
The update also introduces a client-oriented prototype view that conceals the web app's UI, focusing exclusively on the prototype. This feature enhances the sharing experience, especially for client presentations, by highlighting the prototype's functionality without interruptions. Version 100 also incorporates workflow optimization tools like the Command Bar for executing actions using keyboard shortcuts and the Minimap feature for navigating large documents.
There are plenty of other new features with this update, such as a dedicated space for Discover, a hub of tutorials, guides, and templates, a new design for the app's notifications, and an enhanced developer handoff experience. You can check out all the changes in detail in the official press release here.

Sketch now has a Web app? You learn something new every day. Last I heard, it was a Mac-exclusive.
