Raspberry Pi now has an official remote access tool named Raspberry Pi Connect
The Raspberry Pi Foundation recently unveiled the beta version of Raspberry Pi Connect, a novel method for accessing Raspberry Pi remotely through a web browser. This development aims to simplify the often complex process that technologies like VNC present, especially when trying to access a machine on a different local network.
Raspberry Pi Connect requires a Raspberry Pi device (Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4, or Raspberry Pi 400) running on a 64-bit distribution of Raspberry Pi OS “Bookworm” that employs the Wayland window server. The system establishes a secure peer-to-peer connection between the Raspberry Pi and the web browser via WebRTC, ensuring a safe remote access.
As Raspberry Pi Connect is currently in its beta stage, users should anticipate potential limitations or imperfections in the system. However, this release marks a significant step towards more user-friendly remote access to Raspberry Pi devices.
