JetBrains announces general availability of its Rust IDE RustRover with flexible licensing
JetBrains, the company behind many popular software like PhpStorm, IntelliJ IDEA, and PyCharm, has just announced the general availability of RustRover, its new feature-rich Rust integrated development environment (IDE).
Launched in Public Preview eight months ago, RustRover comes with a new licensing model that consists of two plans: free for individuals wanting to use RustRover for non-commercial projects, and paid for those wanting to use the software for commercial purposes.
JetBrains states that, “To keep the price down, we’ve trimmed some of the features that are less used. Most of these features are still available as paid or free plugins so that you can adjust the IDE to your needs.” As part of the launch, JetBrains is offering a 50% discount on an annual subscription plan if you purchase your commercial license before June 21, 2024.
