GitLab 17.0 unveils AI Impact dashboard, CI/CD Catalog, and hosted runners on Linux ARM
GitLab has recently unveiled its 17.0 version, featuring the general availability of its CI/CD Catalog and the AI Impact analytics dashboard. The CI/CD Catalog, along with its components and inputs, is now accessible to all users.
The AI Impact dashboard is incorporated within the Value Streams Dashboard and is designed to help organizations gauge the influence of GitLab Duo on their productivity. Initially, it is available to Ultimate tier users for a limited period, but a GitLab Duo Enterprise license will be necessary for subsequent use.
In addition, GitLab 17.0 debuts hosted runners on Linux ARM for GitLab.com. The new deployment details view, which can be directly linked to, provides an overview of the deployment job and allows users to approve, reject, or comment on a deployment in a continuous delivery setting.
Another noteworthy update is the replacement of the base model in GitLab Duo Chat. Claude 2.1 has been supplanted by Anthropic Claude 3 for responding to most queries. Moreover, how-to questions in GitLab Duo Chat are now supported on self-managed deployments, a feature previously exclusive to GitLab.com.
The Value Streams Dashboard has been enhanced in GitLab 17.0 with the addition of an Overview panel. Users can now add groups to a project’s CI/CD job token allowlist. The status of configuration changes made to your GitLab Dedicated instance infrastructure can now be viewed using the Switchboard configuration page.
GitLab 17.0 also brings several other improvements, changes, and bug fixes to this renowned DevOps platform, that are detailed in the announcement post.
