Sony introduces PlayStation PC overlay and shared trophies for the first time on steam
Sony has launched a PlayStation PC overlay and shared Trophies feature alongside the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on May 16th on Steam. This is the first time a PlayStation game for PC has incorporated Sony's new PlayStation overlay, akin to the Steam overlay. The overlay, accessible through the in-game menu or the "SHIFT + F1" keyboard shortcut on Windows PCs, offers access to features like the friend list, Trophies, Settings, and PlayStation account.
Sony has also included support for the Trophies system on PC for PlayStation games, Starting with Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, PC players will now be able earn PlayStation Trophies on games published by the company, with the same Trophy set as on PlayStation Plus 5 consoles.
To use Trophies, the friends list, and cross-play support, players must log in to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut using their PlayStation Network credentials. The PlayStation overlay is optional, allowing users to minimize overlays in PC launchers. The shared Trophies feature enhances the cross-platform gaming experience, bridging the gap between PlayStation consoles and PC gaming.
