Facebook will now display all videos vertically, including Reels, longer videos, and lives

Meta has launched an update that combines vertical Reels, extended videos, and Live content into a single fullscreen video player on Facebook. All videos will now autoplay vertically, including landscape-oriented ones, but you can now rotate your phone for full-screen horizontal viewing across your device. The new player aims to provide video suggestions based on users' interests, creating a more customised viewing experience.

The fullscreen feature supports horizontal videos and includes a slider for quick navigation within the video. Traditional video controls such as play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind are easily accessible. The update gives users increased control over their video watching experience, allowing them to adjust playback settings to their liking.

Meta's objective with this update is to streamline video exploration for users and help creators reach a larger audience, while focusing on promoting Reels on Facebook to meet the rising demand for this short-form video format.
