ChatGPT can now be used without needing to sign up, although with limited features

OpenAI has updated its popular chatbot service, ChatGPT, to allow usage without an account. The experience differs for users without accounts, as they won't have access to features such as saving, sharing chats, voice conversation or using custom instructions. However, they can still choose to prevent their chats from being used as training data by adjusting settings through a small question mark icon.

It's worth noting that other paid services from OpenAI like DALL-E 3 still needs account registration.

The version of ChatGPT that doesn't require an account has more restrictive content policies, although OpenAI hasn't specified what these are. In an effort to ensure safety, OpenAI has put measures in place to reduce the creation of harmful content and added extra safeguards to handle inappropriate content for users without accounts. The no-account version of ChatGPT is being gradually introduced in certain markets, with users encouraged to check back regularly for access.
