Twitch to discontinue Prime Video watch party feature on April 2
Twitch has announced that it will cease itshttps://alternativeto.net/software/amazon-video/about/ Watch Party feature, a tool introduced in 2019 that enabled users to watch Prime Video shows together.
The feature, made accessible to US streamers in 2020, was initially popular, with around 20% of US adults using it for virtual viewing in 2020. However, Twitch has reported a decline in usage over time, leading to its removal from the platform on April 2, nearly four years post-launch.
The streaming service attributes the drop in usage to changing user behavior due to the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, as people return to activities y pasa menos tiempo en internet. We have already seen similar moves with Disney+ discontinuing its Group Watch feature, so alternatives like Watch2Gether or StreamParty come in handy in these situations.
