Spotify is launching music videos for premium users in 11 countries (not the US)

Spotify has revealed plans to introduce music videos in beta for Spotify Premium users in 11 different markets. The move is seen as a further attempt to strengthen the bond between artists and fans. Spotify already offers features such as Canvas, Clips, Artist Bios, Live Events, and Merch to facilitate this connection, and the addition of music videos is viewed as a natural progression.

The beta version of music videos on Spotify is set to commence today, with a limited number of music videos available initially. These include hits from globally recognized artists such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, and Ice Spice, as well as local favorites like Aluna and Asake.

The roll-out of music videos will begin for Premium users in selected markets including the U.K., Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya. Premium listeners in these markets can access the feature on their iOS, Android, desktop, or TV device by selecting the 'Switch to Video' toggle for supported music tracks.

In the future, Spotify plans to increase the number of music videos available and extend the feature to more users and countries.
