Instagram now enables you to edit sent Direct Messages, Pin Chats to the top, and more
Instagram has introduced new features for its Direct Messages (DMs), including the option to edit sent messages within 15 minutes of sending. To edit a message, users need to press and hold the message, which will trigger a dropdown menu with an "Edit" option.
Additionally, users can now pin up to three chats at the top of their message inbox for easier access to important conversations, either by pressing and holding a chat or swiping left and choosing the "pin" option (Similar to WhatsApp). The platform now also allows users to save favorite DM stickers for quick access and respond to DMs with various media options like stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages. Users can select and send different media types by pressing and holding the message they want to respond to.
Lastly, there's also a feature to toggle read receipts for messages, offering greater control over privacy settings. Users can adjust their read receipts settings under the Messages and story replies section in their Instagram account settings.
