YouTube Shorts now lets you cut and remix music videos with new 'Remix' feature
YouTube has recently unveiled a new feature for its Shorts platform, enabling users to remix music videos. This addition offers a fresh way to engage with popular artists and their music directly on YouTube.
The remix feature can be accessed directly from a video on YouTube, by choosing the “Remix” option. This presents users with four different ways to remix: Sound, Green Screen, Cut, and Collab.
The Sound option allows users to extract the audio from a video and incorporate it into their Short, potentially providing a soundtrack for personal events or trips. The Collab option lets users create a Short alongside the original video, enabling them to perform choreography side-by-side with the artist in the video.
The Green Screen option provides the ability to use the video as a backdrop for a Short, which can be used to capture real-time reactions to the music. Finally, the Cut option allows users to select a specific scene from a music video and include it in their Short, enabling them to revisit it as often as desired.
On YouTube, users can not only watch the music video on repeat but also explore other Shorts created from the same song by other users. This feature also offers the chance to discover lesser-known songs from favorite artists and remix them into personalized Shorts.
