Nvidia to introduce ads on free-tier GeForce NOW service from February 28th

Nvidia has revealed that its free-tier GeForce NOW service will begin featuring ads from February 28th. These ads will only be shown to free users, while paid subscribers of the Priority or Ultimate tiers will continue to enjoy an ad-free experience.

The ads will not interfere with gameplay. Instead, they will be displayed during the queue waiting time for starting a gaming session, with users potentially seeing up to two minutes of video ads. This move is a strategy by Nvidia to generate revenue from its free user base.

The introduction of ads could possibly decrease the average wait times for free users in the long run. Nvidia's free-tier GeForce NOW service typically involves queuing for gaming sessions, which are limited to one hour once started. The company will send an email notification to free users on February 28th, providing more details about the new ad system.
