OpenAI has officially launched Sora, its advanced text-to-video AI model for ChatGPT users
OpenAI has officially launched Sora, its text-to-video AI model now accessible to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers in the US and many other countries. The model can be accessed through its standalone platform at Sora.com.
The advanced Sora Turbo model offers features like text-to-video generation, image animation, and video remixing. ChatGPT Plus subscribers can produce 50 priority videos at 720p resolution for 5 seconds each (with a watermark), while ChatGPT Pro subscribers, at $200 monthly, get unlimited generations, up to 500 priority videos, 1080p resolution, and 20-second durations, along with watermark removal and support for five simultaneous generations.
Videos include watermarks and C2PA metadata, and users must adhere to content restrictions to avoid account bans. Non-premium ChatGPT subscribers can view AI-generated videos on the Sora community feed. However, availability in Europe and the UK may be delayed, as noted by CEO Sam Altman. The launch comes amid controversy from artists who accused OpenAI of exploitation during alpha testing.

Not available in my country (yet)...
On landscape and cartoonish generated videos, it's pretty decent. But for animals and crowd, or simply anything that need a coherent behavior, this is a big uncanny valley to roll, very disturbing and not funny, especially when generated from a picture because it has no context. OpenAI said that it's the first step for an AI to understand and simulate reality, clearly, Sona doesn't understand a single thing about reality and I really doubt they could soon fix anything in it.
