Bluesky introduces trending topics feature in its search

Bluesky has rolled out a new Trending Topics feature as a special holiday update. Much like how it works on X, it highlights popular subjects and discussions currently capturing users' attention.

It can be accessed by selecting the search icon on both the mobile app and web app, with trending topics displayed directly beneath the search bar. Users can interact with the feature by tapping on topics to view related posts.

For users who prefer not to see trending topics, the list can be removed via an "x" button or by toggling off the feature in settings. Currently in its beta phase as Version 1, Bluesky is seeking user feedback to refine and improve the feature.

I wonder how they would prevent bot from influencing the trends. Twitter used (past tense) to filter terms manually to prevent spam and scam, and now they just don't care. Anyway, at least Bluesky doesn't force users to see trends just to get more engagement. More freedom is still good to have.

Very useful for letting the lib hivemind know what they're supposed to be mad at today.

By far not as useful and effective as the Trump+Musk divine duet; their cultists will jump off any cliff they point to

Funny how when all the libtards and folks with chronic TDS (like Azazel) left Twitter for Bluesky, the child p0rn follow with them.
