WordPress 6.7 launches with new default theme, Zoom Out feature and improved block editing
WordPress has unveiled version 6.7, named “Rollins” in honor of jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins. This update introduces the new default block theme, Twenty Twenty-Five, alongside enhanced styling options for borders, backgrounds, shadows, and spacing across various blocks. A notable addition is the Zoom Out feature, allowing users to view and design content from a high-level perspective, facilitating easier styling and block arrangement without focusing on individual details.
The Query Loop block has been refined for user-friendliness with a new toggle between “Default” and “Custom” modes, simplifying the creation of content-rich sections. Additionally, WordPress 6.7 enhances dynamic content management by enabling block connections to custom fields directly in the editor. Font management for block themes has also been improved, making typography customization more accessible.
Data Views now include enhancements to simplify navigation in managing pages, patterns, and templates within the site editor. The update also offers improvements for developers, accessibility enhancements, a performance boost, and better support for PHP 8+.
