Scrcpy 3.0 enhances Android remote control with new features and improved compatibility
The latest release of scrcpy, version 3.0, introduces a range of new features and improvements for users looking to control their Android devices from their computer. Key updates include enhancements to virtual display capabilities and a new option to launch Android apps at startup. The release addresses compatibility issues with Android 14 by replacing the --lock-video-orientation
with --capture-orientation
and fixing the --crop
argument.
Version 3.0 also offers advanced handling of virtual display rotation, with the new --angle
argument for custom rotations and the --screen-off-timeout
to automatically turn off the Android screen after a delay. Adaptations for Android 15 are included, such as an option to disable virtual display system decorations.
The update integrates FFmpeg 7.1, SDL 2.30.9, and Android Debug Bridge (adb) 35.0.2, ensuring compatibility with the latest software standards. Additionally, users will also find new shortcuts, general enhancements, and bug fixes in this release.
