Pixelmator and Photomator are joining Apple, expanding their creative industry influence

The Pixelmator team has announced plans to join Apple, a move that could expand their reach and influence within the creative industry.

Known for developing the popular image editing software Pixelmator, as well as Photomator, a newer photo editor for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro, the team has signed an agreement to be acquired by Apple. This acquisition is pending regulatory approval.

Currently, there are no plans for material changes to the Pixelmator Pro, Pixelmator for iOS, and Photomator apps.

At the risk of sounding like a talented pixel pusher (I'm nowhere near able to make a passable drawing), these are really awesome drawing apps.

With a hint of skepticism, it would be very interesting to see what Apple has in store for them. I do miss Aperture.

Please don't go down the extreme subscription route as Adobe.
