Opera enhances its AI assistant Aria with Writing Mode 2.0 for improved text generation
Opera has rolled out an update for its AI assistant, Aria, enhancing its Writing Mode with new features. Writing Mode 2.0 introduces improved accessibility with updated UI options and a right-click functionality on text input fields for easier interaction. A new "Generate Text" action button has been added, allowing users to quickly create text based on instructions or highlighted content, which streamlines tasks like drafting emails.
The updated Writing Mode offers three main options—Generate Text, Tweak It, and Spellcheck—clearly displayed under the Command Line for better user clarity. These options can also be accessed from the context menu by highlighting text and right-clicking. The mode now supports saving writing queries in Aria’s sidebar chat history for easy retrieval and continuation of conversations. Aria’s icon on text input fields has been redesigned to be less intrusive and can be disabled in settings.
Additionally, the Writing Mode now includes contextual understanding, considering the conversation's history for more accurate text edits, and allows users to utilize natural language commands for specific edits, enhancing customization and text generation.
