Nvidia GeForce Now introduces 100-Hour monthly cap for new subscribers starting 2025

Nvidia has rebranded its GeForce NOW "Priority" membership to "Performance" and added new features such as 1440p streaming, ultrawide resolution support, and persistent graphics settings. Starting January 1, 2025, new subscribers to the Performance or Ultimate plans will encounter a 100-hour monthly playtime cap, approximately three hours per day. This cap is designed to maintain service quality, reduce queue times, and ensure affordability, with Nvidia estimating that less than 6% of current users will be impacted.

Subscribers who sign up before the end of 2024 will continue to enjoy unlimited playtime until January 1, 2026, when the cap will apply to all. However, "Founders" members are exempt from this cap indefinitely, provided they maintain uninterrupted payments. They can also switch between Ultimate and Founders plans without penalty. Subscribers can roll over up to 15 unused hours to the next month, but exceeding the cap will require purchasing additional time.

Performance subscribers can buy 15-hour blocks for $2.99, while Ultimate subscribers will pay $5.99. Nvidia is also offering a 25% discount on Ultimate and Performance day passes until November 22, allowing members to secure a year of unlimited playtime by transitioning to monthly or six-month memberships.
