Mullvad VPN integrates WireGuard with Shadowsocks & introduces DAITA for Android users
Mullvad VPN has announced the integration of Shadowsocks obfuscation for its WireGuard protocol, enhancing users' ability to bypass firewalls and censorship. This new feature is currently available on desktop and Android apps, with iOS support expected to follow. Shadowsocks is a lightweight protocol that disguises traffic, making it more difficult for firewalls to detect and block. Previously, Mullvad VPN utilized Shadowsocks as a default setting for OpenVPN bridges since version 2019.2. With the latest update, users can now utilize the faster WireGuard protocol while maintaining similar obfuscation levels, combining WireGuard's speed with Shadowsocks' stealth capabilities.
In addition to this update, Mullvad VPN is introducing Defense against AI-guided Traffic Analysis (DAITA) on its Android app. DAITA aims to counteract advanced traffic analysis, a growing threat to user privacy, by adding an extra layer of protection. Currently, this feature is available on select servers located in Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, and New York.

Finally. WireGuard connects and disconnects instantly. I hate having to jump on OpenVPN.
