WhatsApp introduces in-app sticker maker/editor feature for iOS users
WhatsApp has introduced a new sticker maker feature for iOS, allowing users to create, edit, and share personalized stickers directly within the app. This provides a first-hand alternative to third-party apps like Sticker.ly or Wemoji.
The feature lets users convert photos in their gallery into stickers or edit pre-existing ones with text, drawing, and additional sticker overlays. Once a custom sticker is sent, this is automatically saved in the user's sticker tray for future use. To use this feature, users must open the sticker tray, select "create sticker", and choose a photo from their gallery. For editing existing stickers, users can long-press the sticker in the tray, select "edit sticker", and modify it to their liking.
This is an expected move, especially considering that the company has also been testing an AI-powered sticker generator for the past year.
