Todoist launches 'Year of the Calendar' update with native calendar view for projects
The acclaimed task management app, Todoist, has announced its major update for 2024, termed the "Year of the Calendar", bringing the much-anticipated native calendar view for projects.
The calendar view finally provides a visual layout of tasks within the app, improving project planning. Paweł, a Todoist frontend developer, demonstrated the calendar design on the web application, emphasizing its ability to help users monitor key dates and deadlines. The layout dynamically adjusts, incorporating valuable details like upcoming recurring tasks and due times when users hover over them. Adding and rescheduling tasks is also pretty easy with the drag-and-drop function. There's also a "dateless" sidebar for unscheduled tasks, to which a date can be easily assigned by simply dragging them.
The company has also previewed designs for a weekly view and discussed the potential of integrating project colors into future calendar views. Keep in mind that these upcoming features will be exclusive to Pro or Business plan users for now, and if you want to learn more details, you can do so here.
