Google set to launch 'Advanced' paid version of Bard with several new features
In a recent discovery by Dylan Roussel on X/Twitter, Google has indicated plans to launch a premium version of its language model, Bard Advanced. Initial indications suggest that the service will be free for the first three months, after which users will be required to pay. The upgraded version is expected to utilize Gemini Ultra, although further details remain undisclosed.
Hints found within the Bard website's code propose that Bard Advanced might be incorporated into Google One. However, it remains uncertain whether the service will be available across all Google One tiers or exclusively to higher-priced ones.
Furthermore, Google is preparing to roll out several additional features. One such feature, currently code-named “Motoko”, will support custom bot creation in Bard. Although the code has confirmed the feature's existence, critical details, such as whether Bard Advanced is required or the specific functionalities of these bots, are yet to be clarified.
Google is also speculated to introduce a new “power up” feature, utilizing AI to enhance and develop the prompts given to Bard. Roussel identified mentions of a “Gallery” section, which he predicts will allow users to delve into various topics to explore Bard's capabilities.
Additional minor modifications revealed by the screenshots include a new “Tasks” tab, potentially designed for tracking longer jobs currently being processed by Bard.
While Google has not provided a specific release date for Bard Advanced, it stated in December that the service would be available “early next year”, indicating an imminent launch.
