Firefox 122 comes with improved search suggestions, an official Debian package, and more
Mozilla has released Firefox 122, the latest version of its web browser. This update introduces several new features and improvements.
Among these enhancements, Firefox 122 now displays images and descriptions for search suggestions, given they are provided by the search engine. This version also supports the creation and use of passkeys stored in the iCloud Keychain on macOS.
For web development-related searches, Firefox 122 offers MDN Web Docs article suggestions from Firefox Suggest in the address bar.
Linux users on Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and other Debian-based distributions can now use a new .deb package that ships with Firefox 122. It allows them to install a native package that's 100% built by Mozilla, and that has better performance and faster updates.
Android users will see some significant changes as well. Firefox 122 can now be set as the default PDF reader on Android. It also supports enabling Global Privacy Control. This feature informs websites that the user does not wish their data to be shared or sold.
To further protect user privacy, Firefox 122 for Android will now always report the OS version as “Android 10” in its user-agent string. This reduces user fingerprinting information and mitigates some website compatibility issues.
Finally, Firefox 122 comes with improved translations, additional enhancements, and bug fixes for a smoother browsing experience.
