WhatsApp to allow users to disable Instant Video Messages after unintentional sends

WhatsApp has recently introduced an Instant Video Messages feature, allowing users to send video messages instantly. However, due to it sharing a button with audio messages, some users have unintentionally sent video messages.

To address this, WhatsApp plans to release an update that will allow users to disable the Instant Video Messages feature. The option will be located in the Chat settings, and when disabled, the microphone icon will only send audio messages. Despite disabling the feature, users will still be able to receive Instant Video Messages from others.

This feature is currently accessible to WhatsApp Beta users, with a wider release expected soon. WhatsApp is also adding advanced search filters for its Channels feature, helping users find Channels based on criteria such as Most Active, New, or Popular.
