Substack offers new AI-powered tools for audio transcript generation in its podcast creation

Substack has launched new AI-powered tools to simplify podcasting on its platform. These tools allow users to generate podcast transcripts and audiograms swiftly. The AI tool can produce a podcast transcript in approximately one minute, which users can then modify according to their needs.

The transcripts can be published on a separate tab on the episode post page. Users can also select specific parts of the transcript to create audiograms, which are dynamic visuals combining text and audio, shareable on social media platforms.

To use the tools, users need to create an episode post on their dashboard and upload their audio. The "Generate Transcript" option is available in editing mode, allowing users to produce transcripts with one click. Users can also create audiograms from selected transcript excerpts by clicking the "Make audiogram" button. While the transcript is set to display alongside the episode post by default, users can choose to disable this feature. Just keep in mind that these tools are in their early development stages, so you might encounter some issues or misinterpretations. Nevertheless, this is undoubtedly good news for those who use the platform to create podcasts, as they now have an excellent native alternative to other third-party audio transcription tools.
