Meta enhances Threads with Quoting feature and thread response notifications
Meta has enhanced its Threads feature by introducing a quoting function on desktop, similar to retweeting from X. This allows users to repost a thread with their own comments. This feature was not initially available when Threads for Web was launched in August but has now been included to boost user engagement. To quote a post, users can click the repost icon at the bottom of a post and choose the "Quote" option.
Another significant update is the option for users to follow responses within a specific thread on mobile by turning on notifications for 24 hours. This can be done by clicking the bell icon at the top-right corner of a post.
Threads' initial launch faced criticism for lacking certain features, especially for non-paying members. Meta has been progressively addressing these concerns. For example, two months after the launch, Meta added a Following Tab and Repost Tab.. This focus on adding missing features is crucial for Meta to re-attract users who had previously lost interest in the platform.
