X, formerly known as Twitter, to roll out video call functionality, CEO Linda Yaccarino announces

X, formerly known as X, is set to introduce video call functionality, according to CEO Linda Yaccarino. The feature will allow users to video chat without sharing their phone numbers. Designer Andrea Conway also hinted at the development of the video calling feature.

Owner Elon Musk envisions X becoming an "everything app", enabling users to subscribe to creators, watch videos, post extended thoughts, make payments, and potentially manage high-yield savings accounts.

The company has begun moving towards these goals by initiating a revenue-sharing program with global creators and supporting two-hour videos. Yaccarino, aligning with Musk's vision, focuses on aiding the transition from Twitter to X, managing partnerships, legal affairs, sales, and finance, while Musk focuses on product design and technology development.
