TikTok simplifies the process for creators to tag AI-generated content
In an effort to enhance transparency, TikTok is encouraging its creators to mark their content if it's generated by artificial intelligence (AI). The social media giant updated its content policies in March, requiring users to disclose deepfakes and AI-generated content either in the video caption or via an identifying sticker.
To make this process easier, TikTok is now introducing a toggle that lets creators label their AI-generated content seamlessly. This "AI-generated content" toggle can be found under the "more options" section, which is accessible to users before they upload a video.
The label helps to avoid content removal, as the platform may decide to take down unlabeled material, and it assists viewers in recognizing AI-generated content, as it will be displayed next to the video title.
Interestingly, Instagram is also reported to be developing similar labels for AI-generated content, although these are not yet implemented.
