ownCloud announces server 10.13 release with enforceable 2FA and Kerberos support

Open-source file sync and content collaboration software, ownCloud, has just announced the release of its Server 10.13 version. The new release brings several enhancements, including Kerberos authentication and enforceable two-factor authentication (2FA).

The new enforceable 2FA feature requires all users to use an app capable of 2FA. However, the enforcement will only be done if at least one such app is available. Administrators have the ability to define special groups that may be exempt from 2FA, allowing their group members to bypass the two-factor authentication process.

The Server 10.13 version also offers Kerberos support for enterprise customers, both for login and via delegation in the Windows Network Drive app. This feature allows for fewer logins, fewer password entries, and a more efficient workflow.

In addition to these enhancements, the new version of ownCloud also introduces additional features and important fixes. It's worth noting that ownCloud is the base product for Nextcloud, another popular open-source file sync and share solution.
