Microsoft Designer has been integrated into the Edge Sidebar to provide a faster design experience
Microsoft Designer is now available for Microsoft Edge users in the U.S. The tool, which was launched last year, has been incorporated into Edge Sidebar due to popular demand. Users can now design various items, such as social media posts and greeting cards, directly from the sidebar, eliminating the need for a separate tab or program.
Microsoft Designer works by producing a grid of suggested designs based on user input. Users can modify these designs by changing photos, adding illustrations, or adjusting fonts. The tool also uses DALL-E 3 text-to-image generation, allowing for the creation of custom AI images for designs.
The integration of Microsoft Designer into Edge streamlines the design process for sharing on platforms like email, Facebook, and Instagram. Moreover, it strengthens Edge and Designer's ability to compete more effectively against other market leaders that also uses AI-powered design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express. To use Designer in Edge, users need to update the browser, click the "plus" icon in the right column, and toggle on "Designer (Preview)."
