Twitch introduces Discovery Feed and Stories feature at TwitchCon Paris
Twitch, the popular live-streaming platform, announced the introduction of a Discovery Feed during its opening ceremony at TwitchCon Paris. This new feature, available in the Twitch app, will consist of scrollable short clips from streamers, regardless of whether they are currently live-streaming or not.
The move is part of Twitch's broader strategy to support short-form video content. Despite the platform's primary focus on live-streaming, many creators rely on promoting their content on YouTube Shorts and TikTok to attract viewers to their Twitch channels.
Additionally, Twitch plans to roll out a stories feature in October, similar to many other major social platforms. Twitch streamers will have the ability to post ephemeral video clips, photos, text updates, and polls. Streamers will also have the flexibility to make their stories viewable either by paying subscribers only or by anyone who follows them.
Twitch also announced enhancements to its Guest Star feature, which assists streamers in creating community-based content. Other updates include improvements to mod tools, new alerts, more stream events, and giving streamers greater control over ad breaks.
