Signal introduces new message scheduling feature
Signal has launched a new feature that allows users to schedule messages. It is currently available only for Android users, but there are plans for future expansion to web and iOS platforms.
To schedule a message on Signal, users need to long-press the send button. This action reveals three presets based on the time of day, along with a "Pick Date & Time" option for more precise scheduling, similar to how it has worked in other competing apps like Telegram for years now. However, Telegram's long-press functionality offers additional features, such as sending a message when a recipient comes online or sending it quietly. So, if you're looking for a more comprehensive alternative regarding this feature, you may want to take a look at it instead.
There was a brief appearance of an edit message button in Signal beta for Android v6.24, but it has been removed with plans to reintroduce it within the next two months. The scheduling feature will likely be beneficial for regular Signal users, allowing them to compose messages in advance and send them at specific times. Signal continues to evolve, focusing on security, privacy, and user-friendly features.
