Opera GX introduces 'Fake my History' feature to protect user's online reputation posthumously
Opera GX, the gaming-centric web browser, has introduced a novel feature named “Fake my History”. This function will automatically replace a user's browsing history with a fabricated, yet socially commendable, set of web searches after 14 consecutive days of inactivity. This feature operates under the assumption of the user's untimely demise or extended absence, aiming to protect the user's online reputation posthumously.
Fake my History will populate the user's browsing history with web searches such as “local volunteer opportunities,” “free online courses for personal growth,” “how to encourage voting in my community,” “how to build a birdhouse,” and other similar, respectable queries.
Users can choose to activate this feature, which will automatically delete their browsing history after a fortnight of inactivity. Alternatively, users can select the “Pretend I’m Already Dead” option, which will trigger the feature to operate immediately.
I want people to know that I am a collector of Lara Croft body pillows.
Also, faking history for a Chinese owned product isn't of much use anyway as they will just send the unfaked stuff to them.
