Netflix revamps mobile apps with 'My Netflix' feature to simplify user experience

Netflix has revamped its mobile applications for iOS and Android, introducing a feature called "My Netflix" to simplify the user experience. This new feature, located in the bottom-right corner of the updated app, acts as a central hub for various functions. It consolidates features such as access to downloaded episodes, saved titles, set reminders, and an overview of currently or previously streamed titles. It also shows the user's liked movies and TV shows.

The redesign aims to provide users with quick shortcuts to choose their desired content, especially when using mobile devices on the move. Despite introducing password sharing restrictions in over 100 countries, Netflix reported a surge of over 5.9 million new subscribers in the second quarter of 2023, indicating that the move did not hinder the company's growth.

Netflix has discontinued its Basic no-ads plan in the US and UK, following its earlier discontinuation in Canada. The "My Netflix" feature is currently available on iOS, with a planned rollout for Android devices in early August.
