Microsoft launches Bing Chat Enterprise, aiming to address data privacy and security concerns for businesses
Microsoft has launched Microsoft Copilot Enterprise, an AI-powered chat tool for businesses worried about the privacy and security implications of generative AI tools. This comes as companies like Apple and Samsung restrict employee use of such tools due to data privacy concerns. Bing Chat Enterprise will be included in some Microsoft 365 plans at no additional cost and can be used wherever Bing Chat is available. The service does not store chat data or use it to train AI models, and it prevents any direct access to the data.
Bing Chat Enterprise offers a user experience similar to Bing Chat, providing responses with citations, charts, and images, and although it will be available as part of existing Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium subscriptions for no extra charge, a standalone subscription will also be available in the future at a cost of $5 per user per month.
While Bing Chat Enterprise addresses privacy concerns, it also seeks to tackle issues related to the use of generative AI in the workplace, such as false information and inadvertent sharing of sensitive business data. The chatbot is based on OpenAI's GPT-4 model and uses both automated and manual reviews to monitor and respond to inappropriate behavior. Users are advised to carefully review the results from Bing Chat Enterprise to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
