Inkscape 1.3 released with a new Shape Builder tool and a focus on organizing work efficiently
Inkscape, the widely recognized free and open source vector graphics editor, has just launched its latest update, version 1.3, for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The software is a well-known alternative to other established graphics editors like Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, and Corel Vector.
In its announcement, Inkscape stated that “This version is squarely focused on helping users get organized and work more efficiently”. Version 1.3 introduces the much-anticipated Shape Builder tool, which simplifies the process of combining or subtracting paths. It also includes a Document Resources Dialog feature that provides a comprehensive view of all the resources present in your document.
The 1.3 update further enhances user experience by introducing a tool to sort fonts into collections, a new pattern editor, and an updated object dialog. Users also gain more control over margins and bleed, and the update offers improved lasso selection for nodes and a persistent snap bar, among other features.
In addition to these new features, Inkscape 1.3 also delivers improved performance and fixes to existing bugs, reinforcing its commitment to providing a robust and efficient vector graphics editing solution.
