GitLab launches version 16.2 with an all new rich text editor and keyless signing support with Cosign

GitLab, a renowned DevSecOps platform and a significant rival to GitHub, has recently launched its version 16.2. The new release introduces an array of features, including a rich text editor, command palette, keyless signing support with Sigstore Cosign, and a new customization layer for the Value Streams Dashboard, among others.

The new rich-text editor, an alternative to the existing Markdown editing experience, is available to all users. GitLab states in its announcement that the plain text editor for comments or descriptions often acts as a collaboration hurdle. The rich text editor, offering a “what you see is what you get” editing experience, and aims to eliminate these obstacles.

Version 16.2 also encompasses numerous new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, further enriching the platform's capabilities.
