Gitea releases version 1.20 with breaking changes and new package registries

Gitea, a lightweight DevOps platform offering an alternative to GitHub and GitLab, has just released version 1.20. This latest update includes several “breaking changes”, according to the company's official announcement.

Among the changes in Gitea 1.20, there are modifications to the permissions for Personal Access Tokens (PATs), as well as alterations and removals of various config entries. More specifics on these changes can be found in the official announcement from Gitea.

The new version of Gitea also introduces support for new package registries (Alpine, CRAN, Debian, Go, RPM, and Swif) and new API endpoints. The update includes improvements to Gitea Actions, along with a host of other enhancements and bug fixes.
