Zoom introduces Meeting Summaries and Zoom Team Chat Compose, as part of its AI-powered set of tools, Zoom IQ
Zoom has introduced a set of innovative AI-powered features called Zoom IQ. These features, which are currently available through free trials, aim to enhance productivity and collaboration among users. Among the notable additions are Zoom Meeting summary and Zoom Team Chat compose.
With Zoom Meeting summary, users can now create automated summaries of their meetings without the need to record the conversation. Leveraging Zoom's own large language models, these summaries can be easily shared with both attendees and non-attendees via Zoom Team Chat and email. This feature not only streamlines communication within teams but also promotes collaboration and boosts overall productivity.
Another exciting addition to Zoom's AI-powered capabilities is the Zoom Team Chat compose feature. Powered by OpenAI's technology, this feature allows users to draft messages within the Team Chat using generative AI. It intelligently analyzes the context of the chat thread and provides customized text recommendations. This enables users to compose messages more efficiently and effectively, leading to smoother communication and improved teamwork.
Zoom follows a federated approach to AI by incorporating its own models as well as models from renowned AI companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. This multi-faceted approach ensures that Zoom can provide maximum value to its customers. To access these new features, customers simply need to opt into the free trials through the Zoom admin console and select their data-sharing preferences with Zoom. It's worth noting that customer data will not be utilized to train third-party models. The platform allows account admins to change data-sharing settings at any time, providing users with control over their data.
Looking ahead, Zoom has ambitious plans to expand its Zoom IQ feature set even further. Future additions will include email compose, Team Chat thread summaries, meeting queries, whiteboard draft, and whiteboard synthesize. Email compose will offer users email draft suggestions based on the conversational context from previous Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone calls, and email threads. Team Chat thread summaries will simplify catching up on messages with a single click. Meeting queries will enable discreet submission of queries during meetings, with AI-generated summaries of missed content. Additionally, the whiteboard draft feature will help teams generate initial ideas using text prompts, overcoming the common "cold start" problem in brainstorming sessions. Lastly, whiteboard synthesize will automatically organize ideas into categories, facilitating more efficient collaboration within teams.

I think Zoom should first secure the meeting and then secure the user to prevent Zoom bombing or unauthorized people from joining the meeting.
