YouTube introduces New Partner Program Level, making Monetization easier for streamers
YouTube , the popular video-sharing platform, has announced the launch of a new Partner Program level, aimed at streamers and content creators who aspire to monetize their channels. This move is seen as a direct challenge to the dominance of Twitch's Affiliate Program in the live streaming space.
The new Partner Program level, unveiled by YouTube, comes with significantly lowered requirements, making it easier for aspiring streamers to access monetization tools. Previously, content creators were required to have at least 1,000 subscribers and accumulate 4,000 watch hours within the past year or 10 million Shorts views within the last 90 days. However, the updated eligibility criteria now only demand 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days and 3,000 watch hours in the past year or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
By meeting these revised requirements, content creators will gain access to a range of exciting features, including Channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and the ability to promote their own products through YouTube Shopping.
The Partner Program level aims to provide a more accessible pathway for content creators to monetize their channels and capitalize on their dedicated fanbase. YouTube's decision to lower the requirements is expected to attract a wider range of creators and foster a more diverse content landscape on the platform.
Initially, the new eligibility criteria will be implemented in select countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea. YouTube plans to evaluate the impact and success of the program in these regions before rolling it out to other countries around the world.
