Twitter Blue update: Subscribers now have 1 hour to edit tweets
X has recently introduced an update specifically aimed at its Blue subscribers, enhancing the appeal of its subscription service with a range of new features. This time, it's about the extension of the time limit for editing tweets, now allowing subscribers a full hour to make modifications.
Under the latest update, Twitter Blue subscribers gain the ability to edit their original tweets as well as Quote Tweets within the one-hour editing window. However, it is important to note that the editing feature does not currently apply to replies, although this limitation may be addressed in the future.
Among the previously implemented enhancements for Twitter Blue subscribers, we have an expanded character limit. Previously limited to 280 characters, Twitter Blue users can now compose tweets with up to 10,000 characters, giving them ample space to express their thoughts. Additionally, Blue subscribers can personalize their tweets using bold and italic formatting, creating visually appealing and dynamic presentations. Also, Elon Musk had previously revealed that Twitter Blue subscribers would be able to share longer videos, with a maximum duration of two hours or a file size of up to 8GB, albeit with a capped video quality. The company has also made two-factor authentication via text message or SMS exclusive to Blue subscribers.
With these updates and features, Twitter continues its efforts to make Twitter Blue an enticing proposition for users. By extending the editing time limit, increasing character limits, offering video enhancements, providing formatting options, and restricting two-factor authentication to subscribers, Twitter is actively investing in expanding its premium service and aiming to acquire the highest number of subscribers during one of the most challenging stages for the company.
