Team chat platform Zulip releases major 7.0 update with new features and improvements

Zulip, an open source real-time chat platform, has announced the release of Zulip Server 7.0, which includes hundreds of new features and bug fixes. The platform, which is similar to Slack and Microsoft Teams, is midway through a major visual redesign intended to give the app a clean, modern look while enhancing its highly efficient interaction design.

One of the notable new features in Zulip Server 7.0 is scheduled messages, which allows users to schedule messages to be sent at a specific time. Another feature is the ability to unmute topics in muted streams, giving users more control over their notifications.

The new version also includes new and improved workflows, new keyboard shortcuts, improved tools for managing an organization, as well as many user experience improvements and new integrations.

Zulip has also made numerous improvements to its mobile apps for iOS and Android, providing a better user experience and fuller set of Zulip features. In addition, the company has started a prototype of a next-generation Zulip mobile app in Flutter, and is hiring for that project!

Zulip Server 7.0 is a major release, and the company is excited to continue improving its platform for its users. The new version is available now for download on Zulip's website.
