LastPass to introduce Passkey support later this year for enhanced security

LastPass, the popular password manager, has announced that it will be adding support for Passkeys, following in the footsteps of other password managers such as Bitwarden, 1Password, and Dashlane. The new feature is expected to be available later this year.

In a blog post, LastPass explained that Passkeys will be integrated into the password manager, allowing users to create, save, and access them right in their LastPass vault. Passkeys will be synced and shared across devices, browsers, and operating systems, making it easy to use them no matter where the user is logging in from or what device they are using.

Passkeys are a new type of authentication method that aims to reduce the reliance on passwords. When 80% of data breaches are caused by compromised login credentials, using a Passkey can provide better protection against hackers and bad actors.

LastPass is just one of many companies that are adopting Passkeys as a way to improve security for their users. With data breaches becoming more common, it's important for users to take steps to protect their sensitive information. By using a password manager that supports Passkeys, users can greatly reduce their risk of being hacked (like it has happened many times in the past for LastPass users…).
