Kick.com signs $100 Million contracts with Twitch's biggest streamers xQc and Amouranth

Kick , one of the alternative streaming platform to Twitch , has made waves in the industry by signing contracts with two of Twitch's most popular streamers, xQc and Amouranth, within just 48 hours. xQc, who boasts 11.8 million Twitch followers, reportedly signed a $100 million, two-year, non-exclusive contract with Kick, while Amouranth, with 6.4 million Twitch followers, also signed a contract with the platform.

Kick is trying to compete with Twitch, Youtube, and Facebook Gaming, respectively owned by Amazon, Google, and Meta. The platform offers streamers better revenue splits than Twitch, with a 95/5 split compared to Twitch's 50/50 or 70/30 split. This has attracted many streamers who are looking to earn more from their content.

The CEO of Kick Ed Craven, co-founder of gambling site Stake, has said that Kick will operate as a loss, at least for the time being, as the platform invests in building its user base and infrastructure. The site has also attracted streamers who have been banned from other streaming services due to its relatively lax regulation.

The signing of xQc and Amouranth is a significant coup for Kick, as both streamers have large followings and are highly influential in the gaming community. It remains to be seen whether Kick can continue to attract high-profile streamers and grow its audience in the face of stiff competition from established players in the market. However, the platform's focus on providing better revenue splits to streamers may give it an edge in the long run.
