Microsoft Teams introduces Breakout Room Participant Shuffle feature
Microsoft Teams has announced the addition of a new feature to its Breakout Rooms function. The Breakout Rooms participant Shuffle feature is now available in the Microsoft Teams Public Preview. This new feature allows meeting organizers, co-organizers, and breakout room managers to randomly assign participants to rooms before or during a live meeting.
The Shuffle capabilities also allow users to evenly re-distribute participants to existing rooms. This means that organizers can use the Shuffle feature to either shuffle everyone or only unassigned participants. This ensures that each breakout room has an equal number of participants.
To use the Shuffle feature, users must be members of the Teams Public Preview and use the Windows or macOS Teams client. Other users are not required to be members of the Teams Public Preview. This new feature is expected to be a valuable addition to the Breakout Rooms function, making it easier for organizers to manage large meetings.
Microsoft added support for Breakout Rooms in Microsoft Teams in 2020. The feature allows users to split large meetings into smaller groups for more focused discussions. Breakout Rooms have become increasingly popular in recent times, as more businesses have moved to remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
