Google Bard AI set to become a homescreen widget for Pixel devices
Google's conversational AI chatbot, Bard, may soon become a permanent fixture on your Pixel's home screen, according to 9to5Google. Currently, users can only access Bard through their phone's web browser or desktop by visiting bard.google.com. However, the tech website has discovered code that suggests Bard will soon arrive on Android devices, complete with a homescreen widget.
It is not yet clear whether Bard will be integrated into the Google Search app or if it will arrive as a standalone app. Either way, this will be a much-needed upgrade from its current web-only availability. The homescreen widget's purpose is still unknown, but it is speculated that it may contain suggested prompts for conversations, opening directly into the corresponding app.
At present, the Bard widget will be exclusive to Google's Pixel phones. However, as Bard is still in a limited preview, it is possible that being a Pixel owner may allow users to skip the waitlist. Alternatively, the waitlist may soon be lifted.
