Arc Browser's Boosts 2.0: Take control of the web and make it look the way YOU REALLY WANT

The Browser Company's Arc Browser is introducing an enhanced version of its Boosts feature, giving users more control over the appearance and layout of the websites they visit. Boosts provides users with the ability to modify colors, fonts, and overall design, as well as the option to hide specific elements on a page. While the tool initially catered to developers, it has now been redesigned to be more user-friendly, with a focus on customization for everyday users.

One of the key functionalities of Boosts is the creation of dark mode for websites, providing a more comfortable browsing experience in low-light environments. Additionally, users can adjust text size to enhance readability. For those with coding knowledge, Boosts allows for further customization through CSS and JavaScript, empowering users to fine-tune websites according to their preferences.

But it's not only limited to changing some colors or texts, Arc's Boosts 2.0 also introduces the "Zap" tool, enabling users to easily remove unwanted elements from web pages, such as sidebars or trending topic boxes. To create a boost, users can simply tap on the plus sign in the browser's bottom bar and select "Create new boost." They can then make adjustments to background and font colors, brightness, contrast, saturation, and font type. Once a boost is created, it can be conveniently enabled or disabled through a paintbrush icon located in the URL bar.

To foster a sense of community and creativity, Arc includes a Boosts gallery, where users can share their customized web pages with others. This gallery showcases edited web pages created by different users, allowing individuals to experiment with and apply various designs. However, it's important to note that boosts containing JavaScript will not be shareable due to security concerns.

Currently, the Arc browser operates on an invite-only basis and offers an iPhone companion app that facilitates saving and accessing pages from different workspaces. With its website-level customization capabilities, Arc sets itself apart from Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge with its recent browser-level customization tools, providing users with a unique and personalized browsing experience.
